To celebrate Spring Break, I decided I needed some major dental surgery. That was Friday and I’m still sore as of Monday. And just for the cherry on top, my son’s filling fell out. Because he’s special needs, he gets to be sedated before they can refill his tooth. His new dentist is having to refer him to a specialist. Happy, happy, joy, joy. We’re both walking around (ok, more like lounging around the house) with swollen faces and popping pain pills. Thankfully, Mike took the week off to spend the misery with us.

However, I did manage to get the chapter two rewrite done and sent in to the editor. I’m feeling accomplished – at least in that department. Now if I could find the energy to tackle the piles of dishes and laundry.

Now for the good news –

Total Word Count to Date: 7958

Total Chapters Written: 2 1/2 (Two have been edited, one is in the process of being written and will be turned in to the editor by 3-27-2015)

I’m finally happy with the direction that the story is headed. And I’ve figured out the antagonist’s arc. I’d been beating my head against the wall with that whole mess.

My favorite piece of character dialogue from chapter 1:

Come on, Pharaoh,” she muttered, “as much as I want him recycled into worm food, I promised Ernest I would return him safely. I wonder if slightly maimed would be acceptable. I can’t believe our fate is in Adam’s hands. It’s enough to make a girl place a bet on the bad guys.” – Terra

My favorite piece of character dialogue from chapter 2:

Adam, my old friend,” Prince Brian smiled, scrutinizing Adam, “how have you been? I apologize, I seem to have lost touch with you after my dear father threw me out of his little kingdom.

Oh, you know, the same old crap,” Adam said, casually, “Being kidnapped, half starved, kicked in the ass. All the shit that really tends to piss a guy off.

I’ve also been working on building my author’s platform since everything I’ve read said that authors need a platform, whether they plan on going the traditional publishing route of the whole indie thing. I guess it’s all about having a following.

To Work On:

Build an author’s page on FaceBook.

Revamp my page on Google+.

Revamp my GoodReads page.

Now that I have my twitter going pretty well, I think I just need to maintain that growth.

How are you spending YOUR Spring Break?
